Notes:
Wow! Talk about elevation changes. That climb out of the valley bottom to the peak (from gap trail) is one of the toughest I have done in Shenandoah.

Notes:
Used this trail to loop the Rocky Mountain Trail. Very wet & muddy at the bottom of valley. Follow orange streamers to keep on trail.

Notes:
Nice loop. Started at Black Rock and went CCW. AT was smooth. Canyon up and downs tough. River crossings in valley were fun
Notes:
Went from top to bottom. AWESOME views!!!

Notes:
Did 1.4 mile section for Big Run Loop. 4 river crossings calf to knee deep. Freaking cold water. Had to take boots and socks off & roll pants up.
Notes:
Went bottom to top. Nice steady climb from valley to ridge.

Notes:
Did CCW. 4 river crossings calf-knee deep. Most awesome views and wonderful trails. Lots of downed trees.

Notes:
Steep road up to AT. Connected to AT for loop
Notes:
Quiet dirt road hike. Connected to Hightop Hut trail and AT for loop
Notes:
Great climb up to AT that lands you just north of the Big Rocky Row views.
Notes:
Up to lookout and back. Great views
Notes:
Great views from a relatively easy and short hike
Notes:
Pretty rocky and tough on the knees all the way down. Some excellent views before at at the chimney rocks
Notes:
Awesome climb out of the valley and to the ridge line.
Notes:
A whole lot of elevation change on this one. A pretty challenging loop! I did it CCW to save the hardest climb for the last.

Great views at the rocks and using the AT on the way back was a much nicer trip down.
Notes:
Enjoyable loop hike that avoids the weekend crowd of Humpback Rocks trail from the same parking lot.
Notes:
Steep .8 mile to the rocks and then a nice 3.4 miles to loop back around to the parking lot on the AT
Notes:
Enjoyable loop trail. The spur trail to the peak is a "must do". The views from the top are spectacular!!!!
Notes:
Excellent views of the surrounding areas!
