Bring poles! Ran into a few rattle snakes on the trail. Also start early, it gets super hot by noon and there is no shade or water.

Poles are helpful. Went to Tonto's plateau and then back up. Around 12 miles round trip

If you want more mileage and incline, go down Woodward, walk along the coast then back up sky trail. It was a beautiful day!

We were lucky to see four condors at the high peaks. Fun place to climb and boulder. Recommend taking the bear gulch cave trail.

Not the most scenic trail. Lots of turns and see why it would be fun for mountain bikers. I would rate this an easy/moderate trail

Notes:
Beautiful in the winter! Recommend getting crampons... there are some very icy sections!
