Description
This isn't a terribly long, or terribly exciting trail, but it is very pretty and gives a bit of exercise. It's about 1.2 miles each way with about 450 feet elevation gain. It's on a river-rock-graveled logging road (no signs of logging as of 3/18/25). Access is just east of the bridge crossing the Tahuya River estuary. (Note there's also a trail along the river which we did not explore. Plenty of parking along the road or in the large lot. Nice lake, good place to have lunch. It's perfect for an outing close the the Belfair area, and isn't on most maps.
Signage at the gate says no shooting, no ATV, don't block gate. We didn't see anyone, but may be pretty busy in the summer. Perfect for a cold sunny March morning almost spring.
Flora & Fauna
Mossy, ferny, big leaf maples, doug fir, alders. Someone else said they saw a bobcat and a bear in 2024.
