In the winter, this becomes Scott County Sno-Trails 10-B and snowshoe hikers and skiers must watch out for snowmobile traffic. There are no fees or permits required to use this trail for hiking.

Need to Know

In the Spring, it may be inaccessible due to flooding from Gifford Lake. The best times to hike this trail are late August through late November (or until the first snowfall).

Description

This is primarily a snowmobile trail. But in late summer and early Fall, it provides an easy way to span across a loop in the Minnesota Valley State Trail near Gifford Lake. It is a wide, mowed avenue marked at intervals by orange snowmobile signs that make it is easy to follow when the ground is dry. It is ideal for doing a lollipop loop hike on the Minnesota Valley State Trail out-and-back from the W 145th St trailhead.
