During Hunting Season, please wear bright colors as you hike along this trail as hunting happens on private property that borders the county park.
Description
The Worthington Trail begins in Stone Arch Bridge Historical Park. There is a small parking lot at the top of the hill and you can hike down the hill and check out the Stone Arch Bridge.
Built around 1880 by Henry and Philip Hembdt, this bridge is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The trail breaks off to the right and follows the creek for a short distance. It passes some stacked stone formations on the right hand side of the trail while the creek remains on the left. The trail starts to bend to the right and enters deeper into the woods. The trail goes uphill slightly at this point.
Private property borders the trail on the right hand side of the trail, so keep on the trail to respect the landowner's property. The trail continues forward until it comes to a short, stone wall where signs mark the end of the trail. Going any further is trespassing on private property, so at this point, your only option is to turn around and retrace your steps back to your vehicle.
