Rabbit Trail in the winter.
Need to Know
This trail is called the
Sumac Trail within the River Bend Nature Center. It is the southern end of the River Bend Trail that starts at Faribault Middle School.
Description
The
Sumac Trail starts where Dairy Lane (an old road) intersects with the River Bend Trail. There is an information kiosk here. The
Sumac Trail runs due east from here, running almost level on an abandoned railroad grade. At 0.5 miles from the kiosk, the
Sumac Trail makes a sharp turn to the north and descends to a junction with the Bluebird Trail. If you continue east past this sharp turn, you'll be on a well used use trail that loops through Nature Conservancy property before returning to a junction with the Bluebird Trail. Hiking, but not bicycles, are permitted on the Nature Conservancy's land.
