Description

This section is the longest of the Montana Trail. It is also the most remote as it passes through one of the least populated areas in the lower 48 states. The trail takes you along the north side of Fort Peck and close to several parts of the American Prairie Reserve and through large parts of the Charles M Russell and UL Bend National Wildlife Refuges. Permits are not required. Water is not plentiful on this long section which ends at Fort Peck Dam.
