Overview
Bryant Lake Regional Park is located in Eden Prairie and managed by the Three Rivers Park District. Lone Lake Park is managed by the City on Minnetonka. This route follows paved and unpaved trails that connect the two. An out-and-back hike starting from either lake is an excellent exercise hike at any time of the year.
Need to Know
Neither park requires permits or fees for hiking; parking is free. Both are open year-round. Amenities (toilets, picnic tables, etc.) are located in both parks.
Description
From the large parking lot at the entrance to Lone Lake Park, a paved trail leads down to the dock at the lake. Past the dock, the trail becomes mostly dirt as it climbs over a rise and drops into the drainage of the South Fork of Nine Mile Creek.
The trail follows the creek south, through a tunnel under Rowland Road and under the Crosstown Highway (Hwy 62). Just south of Hwy 62, the trail enters Bryant Lake Regional Park and becomes paved. Follow this trail past the popular dog off-leash area to the shore of Bryant Lake.
You can return from here or loop back on unpaved trails in the southeast corner of the park.
Flora & Fauna
The Fall color display in the trees at Lone Lake Park is amazing.
