Description

Big Lake Park is at the north end of the loop, and can be accessed from both east and west sides of the lake. The first bridge is here. Christie Elementary School is adjacent to the playground there on the east side of the park. There is a tunnel under Parker Road on both sides of Spring Creek.

Copper Creek playground and group shelter are just south of Parker on the west side, also a small field for sports. The second bridge is south of the playground, over a tributary creek. There is access to the creek near this bridge if the dogs need a drink. The loop follows Spring Creek on both sides, and the third bridge is at the south end of the loop. There is a lot of shade, especially on the west side.

There are several places to start the loop.

Flora & Fauna

You'll see wildflowers and native plants, but watch out for the poison ivy if you get off the paved trail. Ducks, fish and turtles in the creek, as well as fossils if you wade out in it. You might see a bobcat or coyote if you're lucky.
