Description

This road can be used, in conjunction with, the Boulder Gulch Trail to create a 16.5 mile loop from Silverton. This route is flat, exposed, has tons of black flies, jeeps, and ATVs.

It is easy to move quickly on it. It is the exact opposite of Boulder Gulch Trail. Where Boulder Gulch Trail is spectacularly gorgeous but steep, this stretch is (relatively) flat and not very enjoyable.

If I were to do this again, I would be doing an out-and-back on Boulder Gulch Trail.

The one saving grace is at the end this route can be taken into Velocity Basin, where the lake at the base of Stormy Peak is pretty spectacular.
