Family Friendly Meandering forest trail with views, and a shorter or longer option

Winter Closure road closure Nov 15 - June 15.

Overview

A moderately tough ascent with elevated views from the ridge line, and peaceful nature within the old growth forest.

Need to Know

You can park near the top of D4 trail along Leland Creek Road.

Description

Pinball ridge is best hiked as an out and back from Leland Creek Road. Start the hike with a wandering trail up an open ridge with great views of the valley. After about 1 mile, the trail will head into an old growth forest, crossing a mid road and continuing up towards Elk Creek doubletrack. After crossing the bridge, the trail gets steeper to the end. If you don't want the extra workout, the bridge is a great place to turn around and head back down.
