Description

Various routes are possible with this trail, and access is from any of three nearby trailheads. You can start from Excelsior Peak TH and make the out-and-back hike to the peak. Alternately, you might start from the other end and hike just to Welcome Pass. Then there is the full High Divide: Excelsior Pass to Welcome Pass hike that's possible with a car (or bicycle) shuttle.

Finally, the easiest hike but toughest drive is to go up Canyon Creek Road and hike Damfino Lakes Trail #625 to reach the High Divide at Excelsior Pass.
