From the town of Hongu you find the well-marked trail at the edge of town. You start pushing through neighborhood sidewalks but soon peel off into the forest.

Head up steep stairs until you arrive at the Tsukimigaoka-jinja Shrine. Spend some time at this pretty shrine and then cruise along past a lovely jizo. The down slope is just as steep if not as well built. You finally pop out at the historic Yunomine Onsen.
