There is no bridge over Allatoona Creek. You must ford the creek or cross over on the road to access.
Need to Know
Access by crossing over and then under the Stilesboro Road overpass. Do not attempt to cross Stilesboro Road.
Description
This trail goes into a part of the park that seems to be forgotten. To access, you need to cross over Allatoona Creek via the Stilesboro Road overpass. Then curl around and go under the overpass. The trail is not well maintained and is fairly overgrown near the bridge.
About 20 feet past the bridge it opens up and is easy to follow. This appears to be an abandoned project. At least part of the trail is gravel. At one point you'll pass by a wooden structure for posting signs that is showing signs of wear.
There is a wooden bridge of the stream that is in good shape. When this was first started, there was a trail that stayed along the creek up to the power lines. This is likely completely overgrown as I was unable to find it on this hike.
The trail ends at a neighborhood, so be aware of your location and do not trespass.
This is not easily accessible and appears to not be maintained, so I would be surprised if you met other hikers on this trail. However, this is along the path of the proposed Allatoona Greenway, so it may be more popular once that project is completed.
Flora & Fauna
Lots of birds and plants.
