Description
Domaine du Rayol is a private garden and museum. All the plants there are from various Mediterranean regions across the world. The plants are grouped into different areas, from those same regions.
The garden's maintenance is kept to a minimum: the goal is to keep it as wild as possible to help with global warming and reduce pollution.
The domain has various hiking paths, this proposed loop is one of the longest and goes through most of the domain. There are also 3 buildings to visit along the way (main, the sea cabin and the old castle). If you have time, there is a cute cafe by the cactus area – a great spot for a quick bite or drink. Picnic tables are also available there.
Flora & Fauna
Countless varieties of Mediterranean type plants: local ones as well as some from California, Chile, South Africa and South Australia (all Mediterranean regions).
