Description

To access the Castle Windy Trail, enter the Apollo Beach district and drive to New Smyrna Beach, where there is a parking lot where you can park and cross the road to access the trail. The park service recommends hiking this trail in the winter months due to the prevalence of mosquitos, so be prepared when you are hiking this trail. The trail is covered by temperate oak trees and tropical bayonet plants, providing shade for you as you hike. The trail emerges at mosquito lagoon where there is a picnic table and place to fish in the lagoon. To get back to your vehicle, retrace your steps back to the parking lot. When you get back, you can enjoy the ocean at New Smyrna Beach
