Overview

A great selection of trails not far from I-10. These are primarily used by bikes but I have never seen that many people out there. It is a great option if you are in Mobile, southern MS, or Hattiesburg.

Need to Know

There is plenty of parking and a pit toilet at the main parking area (the starting point).

Description

There are a few places to park and start but this has the route starting from the main trailhead. There is a collection of trails in here and I will not be doing a step-by-step guidance through those trails. Just use the TRP app. There are also plenty of options to make this shorter.

The bottom loop was 8-miles. The southwestern stretch of the loop is a five-star stretch. Second growth forest; dense and diverse and following the river/creek. The eastern stretch is still nice (four-star) through typical fine.

The top loop was about 5.5 miles. It was pine that had recently seen fire (controlled burn, I am guessing). I was thankful that it was cloudy because that would have been a very exposed and hot stretch.
