Overview

Certainly an off-the-beaten-path adventure for those not faint of heart. This trail will challenge your physical and mental fitness. The reward is the satisfaction you feel upon completion and the incredible views you get after gaining the ridge.

Need to Know

Parking is just a small trailhead at the end of a gravel road and can be accessed from either the E or W side of the trail.

Description

This is the only trail in the Mount Baker Snoqualmie National Forest that allows bikes and off-road vehicles so hikers be aware of that. Also, this trail is very remote and rugged and seldom traveled. I think the best way to access it is via the east-side trailhead. If you want a mega day this can be done as an out-and-back or you can also take two cars and do a car shuttle if a point-to-point hike sounds more appealing.

There are a few spots to fill up water if you have a filter but, do be prepared with necessary safety and emergency equipment as you're likely to be alone. Finally, there are a few sections of the trail that have become very rutted out and rooty from all the OHV's which can require some route finding to get yourself back on the trail.
