Overview

Intermediate bike, easy hike in rolling middle altitude woodland. Very nice three season route with great vistas from the Sandias out to Cabezon and the Jemez. Really nice for a quick outing from the city.

Description

Rolling singletrack with good trail markers. There are some tight corners and there is one stretch of 14% grade at the southern corner between Down and Out #290 and Red Tail Trail #292. But it's not really rocky or technical anywhere. There's a lot of prickly pear, look for flowers in May. The route shown takes Ewok - you could take the middle section of Down and Out. Or on a bike, do 2 laps and get both!
