Description
The trail to the summit of Mont Mégantic in the Eastern Townships offers a scenic and rewarding hiking experience. The mountain, located in Quebec, Canada, is known for its observatory and panoramic views. The trail is well-maintained and varies in difficulty.
The ascent begins in a forested area where you'll follow a small river, gradually leading to more open terrain as you climb higher. Along the way, hikers will see the forest gradually change as the altitude becomes higer. You can already enjoy a nice point of view after two-third of the trail. At 1,110 meters, the summit itself is home to the Mont Mégantic Observatory, making it a popular destination for astronomy enthusiasts. Once at the top, hikers are rewarded with a breathtaking landscape. Nice thing about this trail is that dogs on leash are allowed.

Flora & Fauna
While hiking in the mountain, you'll mostly see conifers. Once at the top, you'll have a view on mostly hardwood trees. Also, if you're lucky, some chickadees may come say "hi".
