The trail follows a road down to the Maple Leaf Barn, allowing everyone to explore much of the Kelly Bend Peninsula.

Need to Know
The paved trail is rather exposed, so make sure to have proper sun protection and bring plenty of water with you. Restrooms are located at the trailhead near the Bluebird Barn.
Description
To access the Kelly Lane Greenway, park in the lot at the Bluebird Barn and get on the road on the other side of the gate, or hike past the Bluebird barn and take a left at the restrooms and hit the road. The road descends gently downhill with the
Hickory Ridge forest on the left hand side of the trail and sweeping views of the fields on the right.
The paved surface makes it good for biking, strollers, and those needing a surface that is smooth and free from obstacles. At .4 miles, the
Seven Islands Loop Trail breaks off to the right of the path. Stay to the right as the road to the left goes up to the Kelly House, private property. Swallows at the Window Barn, an old barn, sits off on the left side of the trail.
The trail continues further out the peninsula and passes the green house, which you can explore. Views of the French Broad River can be enjoyed on the right hand side of the trail. The trail comes to an end at roughly 1.25 miles at the Maple Leaf Barn. If you rode your bike, you can park it hear and explore the barn or the end of the peninsula on the
Seclusion Bend Trail.
To get back to your vehicle, you can retrace your steps on the paved trail, or take follow either side of the
Seclusion Bend Trail as they work their way back up the peninsula toward the visitor center.
Flora & Fauna
Deer, squirrels and a wide variety of birds can be seen along the trail.
