Description

This trail provides access to Memorial Park from Metro's Northwest Transit Center (NWTC) and from neighborhoods to the north in Spring Branch.

Beginning at the NWTC, there is a wide sidepath west to a pedestrian/bicycle bridge over I-10. The wide concrete sidepath then runs south along the east side of N. Post Oak to pass under the I-610 Loop at Memorial Drive.

Beginning at the corner of Memorial Drive and the I-610 Loop Svc. Road (East), the path becomes a crushed-rock trail running along the north side of Memorial Drive. About 400 feet before the railroad bridge, the trail changes to a concrete surface. From this point there are numerous connections into and through Memorial Park.

The long-term development plan for Memorial Park envisions re-routing Memorial Drive in the crushed-rock segment. This could happen in the late 2020's or early 2030's.
