The trail starts right outside of the village, past the church and the cemetery. It is well marked and easy to follow.

You'll start ascending in partial shade until you eventually reach the plateau. All along the way you'll be rewarded with higher views of the Cirque and the nearby peaks.

The trail loops back and ends in the village where you started. If you feel adventurous and interested in seeing the waterfalls, you can make it a longer journey by doing the Cirque de Gavarnie Grand Loop.

There might be herds grazing on the plateau, depending on the season.
