Description

The Lower Twin Lakes Spur is found 0.2 miles south of Upper Twin Lake, on the Tamarack Trail. Go left/east here to hike down to Lower Twin Lake.

Lower Twin Lake Spur descends in sub-alpine meadows dotted with firs, and nearby dense fir forest. Rugged mountains can be seen in the distance to the east, an awesome backdrop to the views of Lower Twin Lake.

Lower Twin Lake is reached after a short 0.2 miles on this spur trail. This is a great place for lunch, or to spend a warm afternoon swimming, or to visit on an evening hike when staying at the Upper Twin Lake trail camp.
