Description
Climb up and reward yourself with stunning views of the
Pic Saint Loup and the
Château de Montferrand. On a sunny day, you also get opportunities to see Montpellier, the Mediterranean sea as well as the surrounding areas, in the far distance.
The trail is very easy to follow and well marked. Start with the GR 60. At 2km/1.24mi, at the fork, turn right and keep climbing to the castle.
You can also make it a loop by using
Château de Montferrand Alternative Climb Trail to descend back to the GR60.
There is limited shade along the trail.
Flora & Fauna
Typical flora of the region. Some thyme, rosemary and olive trees can be found near the trail. In the summer, be ready for the hundreds of cicadas that settled all along the trail.
