Need to Know
No restroom access at this trailhead, but a pit toilet is located at the fire tower location down the road.
Description
Follow the signs along the trail to make a large loop that will return you directly to the parking lot. Sections of this trail are one-way, so please be considerate to follow the signs. In the first section of the trail, you'll meander through the bog/forest that will lead you to some small and larger lakes.
You'll then reach a turn off point and continue along the lakes and through the forest. This will lead you to the Bread Cove Lookout section which is more of an out and back trail. Take that trail following the signs to the right. This will lead you to Bread Cove and Clode Sound. Return the way you came and follow the trail signs back to the parking area.
From Parks Canada - This trail consists of two parts. The first is a gentle loop trail that takes you along Ochre Hill Pond and maneuvers through a number of different habitat types including bog, pond and mature forest. Discover the power of wind as you hike through a section of forest that was severely impacted by Hurricane Igor.
The second is a branch off the trail located part way around the loop; this branch of the trail to Bread Cove look-off is a more rigorous part of the trail but boasts a breath-taking view of Bread Cove and Clode Sound.
