Parking is free and at the start of the trail. This trail has some drop offs, so be aware if hiking with children.

Follow the signs and take the trail up the hill to the right as you begin. Continue to follow the signs along the trail as you wind through the forest and reach Chance Cove. You'll make a figure-8 to complete this trail. As you continue, you'll head back into the forest toward the right and eventually reach Green Head which is smaller offshoot along the trail. It can be very windy here, so be very careful. The views, however, are outstanding!

From Green Head, you'll continue past Chance Cove Island to Island Cove Beach. Take the stairs down to Island Cove Beach if you want. This is a great stop to have lunch or a snack.

The next viewpoint is Patrick's Cove (Big Cove), but first you can hike up to a series of viewpoints between the two coves. You can also hike down to Big Cove, but you'll be using a large rope to get down, and back up. Plan ahead! After you check out those areas, climb up the rope and continue along the trail. You'll follow the signs, hike along the water, and end up right back at the parking lot.
