The full access to the River overlook is closed at this time due to land slides.

Overview

Loop traverses across the Boreal Forest Trail and Copper River trail to create an easy 1.2 mile loop that allows for views of the copper river and some of the largest mountains in the park.

Need to Know

Bring bear spray.

Description

Hiking loop around Wrangell St. Elias Visitor Center. A simple loop that is gravel, and has some minor ascend/descends to be able to see the Copper River. May skip the copper river for a more level path throughout.
