Parking in Henningsen Lotus Park is subject to park hours and fee ($10/car in May 2023).

The trailhead is near two red posts in the parking lot near right field of the smaller baseball field. The trail mainly consists of switchbacks on the hill above Henningsen Lotus Park. There are one or two steeper sections, but otherwise it is a steady uphill hike. The only sounds are your footsteps, the birds, and the flow of the river below. The trail was easy to follow and links up with the Monroe Ridge Trail at the top.
