Overview
This trail connects Boquia, just outside of Salento, with the Santa Rita waterfall and the other trails and natural pools in the area.
Need to Know
There are food and drink options galore here; in Boquia, the entrance, and the shack right by the falls.
Description
From Boquia, head up the road. You'll quickly hit a junction where the road is a Y. The left goes up to the Nature Reserve, another 10km (it was closed when I tried it) and the right goes to Santa Rita. It is well marked.
Follow the access road to the entrance. Pay the fee and check out the food or drink options at the entrance building. From there, continue up the trail. You'll eventually cross a suspension bridge and come to a building selling food and drinks. This is the center point where all trails start and come back to. There are signs to Santa Rita. It is a pretty waterfall but I don't know if this trip is worth it just for that.
However, the Silencio Trail, off to the left, will give you a good climb through the jungle. Reaching the ridge line it drops steeply down the other side reaching the nature pools and another lovely waterfall. I did not go up the other trail, but that is an option for additional exploring and mileage.
When you are done, simply follow the route back to where you started.
