Leaving the Choquequirao Trail, the trail descends for a few hundred yards and then stays somewhat level until you reach the old Choquequirao campground (camping is no longer permitted within the archaeological park).
Keep right after a larger house that is typically occupied by the park's warden and then stay left at a four way junction. The trail steadily heads uphill and turns west after about 1 mile. 200 yards later, you reach Piquiwasi, the ruins of a number of smaller structures. Make your way through the ruins and follow the trail north until you reach the Main Plaza.
