Maricopa Trail: I-17 to Spear S Ranch Trailhead

There is no dedicated parking at the beginning of the trail (at I-17), but you can park in the commercial area where the Fryes grocery store is located and access the trail from Daisy Mountain Dr. Otherwise, Anthem Trailhead and Spear S Ranch Trailhead have dedicated parking.

This trail is part of (and continuous with) the Maricopa Trail, beginning at I-17 at Daisy Mountain Dr (exit 227) and ending at the Spear S Ranch trailhead at New River Rd and Linda Ln.

There are several access points along the trail from either the Anthem Community or Desert Hills Dr, including the Anthem Trailhead located at 2021 W Desert Hills Dr (around the halfway point of this section of trail).

The trail itself is fairly flat and smooth and is less rocky and steep than many other parts of the Maricopa Trail. The trail is well marked with "Maricopa Trail" signs at most of the trail intersections.
