Family Friendly
The trail is mostly flat with some areas that are double wide walking paths. Be careful of the section that walks along the highway.
Need to Know
A 1/3 mile portion of this trail is on a 2-lane highway.
Description
We started at the narrow trail entrance across from the parking lot. The trail is well-maintained but there are some loose rocks. Some junctions at portions of this route are narrow and easy to miss.
When the lake is low in Fall, a significant portion of this trail can be done on the lake shoreline. About 2.5 miles in, the trail comes to a point of land where there's a great, wide view of Lake Marburg. There are portions of this trail that weave along a 2-lane highway and also short portions that run beside fields with uncovered, open exposure to sun. Parts of this trail are a favorite horse trail so there are some ruts… and road apples were aplenty.
Flora & Fauna
Mostly eastern deciduous trees. Small game and native birds
