Description
This short trail to view
Sulphur Gates starts at the southeast corner of parking area at the end of the road. Look for signs for
Sulphur Gates.
Initially in the forest briefly, the trail comes out of the forest, high above the Smoky River with views of the river and mountains. Almost immediately the first of several viewing platforms is reached. These well built platforms are built out over the cliffs to provide awesome views of the two rivers - Smoky and Sulphur Rivers, and the cliffs that tower over them as the Sulphur River empties into the Smoky River.
After checking out the first viewing platform, the path continues on to several other close by viewing platforms, all very worthwhile to visit.
Flora & Fauna
Although conifer forest surrounds this walk, the walk itself is on an open, wide trail and rocks.
