Features
River/Creek · Swimming · Waterfall
Family Friendly
This trail is wide enough and short enough to accommodate families with children. Those who intend to let children swim at the falls should bring life vests, as well.
During heavy rainfall, access to the waterfall is restricted due to the possibility of flash flooding. Ensure hikers check the weather before going out, as the weather can rapidly change creating flash flood conditions.
Need to Know
There is no dedicated parking lot. All parking is roadside near the trail.
Description
This short, out-and-back begins at the road side with a well marked, visible path. The path, consisting primarily of gravel, takes an initial steep downward grade into the creek valley before leveling off. From the entrance to the waterfall, the path is well marked and easy to discern. Just before the final steps up and to the falls, there is a covered picnic spot. At the lagoon itself, there is plenty of room to swim and enjoy the cold water.
Flora & Fauna
Flora & fauna are consistent with that found in the sub-tropical climates. Be weary of snakes sunning on rocks near the water. This trail is well known and local wildlife will typically avoid it when lots of people are traversing.
