Description
The
Red Trail is the longest blazed trail in Crandall Park. It starts at the corner of the southern parking lot and begins with a rocky section. Eventually, you cross a small boardwalk section before passing one end of the
Blue Trail. From here, the
Red Trail ascends to its highest point. Along the way to the top of the hill, the trail also passes one end of the
White Trail. The last section of trail is a steep descent which later passes by the other end of the
Blue Trail before ending at the paved path.
There are some technical sections of this trail, but it is a fun trail to run on. Although it is pretty well blazed, there are lots of smaller mountain biking trails that split off the trail or cross through the trail. The blazed trails in Crandall Park are great for loops and the mountain biking trails allow for many more possible routes.
Parking is available at several locations in Crandall Park and different trails can be used to get to this
Red Trail. This park is managed by the town of Tolland.
