Mont Singer Out-and-Back from Chemin Ruiter Brook

Good remote out-and-back hike, 13 km round trip. I did not want to hike the entire loop, which is too long. Instead I went up to the Mont Singer summit and turned back.

The signage and maps on the trail are very good.

The first 3.7 km is relatively flat, and then the ascent begins. Near the summit is a spectacular view to the south. If you are from the US with US mobile service, you can get a strong signal at this point. The summit, which is 700 meters past the lookout, is inauspicious.

Overall, this is a good hike if you like challenges in the backcountry.
