Need to Know

Please be aware that there are a few potential hazards. I saw poison oak, and the information center warns that "bears and cougars are native to this area"

Description

This is a shared hiker and mountain bike trail that stretches between Dillard Road and Spring Blvd. There's also a half-mile hiking-only trail up the steep southern flank of Mt. Baldy that can be accessed from the Dillard East Trailhead.

Enjoy panoramic views of the Cascade Mountains, Creswell and Camas Swale, Spencer Butte, and downtown Eugene. The southern exposed side of Mt Baldy features Fir and Oak grassland while the northern covered side features shaded fir and maple forest. The contrast is stark and refreshing.

Flora & Fauna

Fir, oak and maple trees are plentiful. Wild flowers are abundant including wild iris and camas.
