The trail branches off the Five Lakes Trail #16E13 and heads across Squaw Saddle on slightly higher ground only to join Five Lakes Trail #16E13 again less than half a mile later. The trail descends further until you reach the PCT: Echo Lake to Highway 80 (Donner Summit).
