Overview

Great views at the top of Grandeur Peak with a nice forested descent into the Pipeline Trail.

Description

A very steep 2.2 miles to start up to the top of Grandeur Peak. The descent into Mill Creek Canyon isn't as steep but still will hit the quads pretty hard. The descent starts down the west side of the peak and wraps around to the ridgeline to the east. You'll encounter nice, covered areas and exposed areas with shale rock.

You'll run into a creek at about mile 4 where I refilled my water bottles. Pipeline enters in at about mile 5 where you follow it until the mouth of the canyon. After Pipeline Trail ends, I recommend keeping your map or Hiking Project mobile app open for the next mile or two because of the many cross trails before the trailhead.

Looking down from the ridge into the quarry in Parley's Canyon. Grandview Mountain is in the far distance. Weather is inclement in the valley, drenching the GSL.
