Family Friendly The trail is easy and not long, so it would be good for families with children. It's also inside the sports complex area, with soccer and baseball fields nearby.

Need to Know

Probably crowded on the weekends, since it's in the sports complex area.

Description

The trailhead is at the very back of the City of Carrollton's McInnish Sports Complex. There is a small parking area for the trail, with an historical marker giving the history of the land. It was a woodright (land used for wood harvesting) and in the same family for over 120 years.

The main trail makes a 3/4 mile loop, and there is a crossover trail through the middle. At the back of the property is a pond with an overlook, and the north side has a small wetland. The trail is shaded with lots of trees. Some plant species are labeled.

This is a beautiful trail, but it does get some traffic noise from the nearby freeway.

Flora & Fauna

Many different trees and shrubs, water plants, birds.
