Need to Know

There are no restroom facilities when the Nature Center is closed. Be careful during hunting seasons to wear blaze orange.

Description

The trail starts on the east side of the parking entrance across the street from the Nature Center building. After a slight descent, the trail hugs the downhill side of many large rocks with a few small shelters/ledges to duck into.

Eventually the trail leaves the rocky area and slowly descends into the woods, where it loops around to the right. A few tree species are marked with identification signs describing the tree and its common uses.

The finishing stretch of the trail is a mostly gradual uphill climb to the beginning of the loop. About halfway around the loop, a trail spur branches off and continues to the lakeshore.
