Need to Know

A sign on a huge old Douglas Fir marks the wilderness boundary.

Description

This is a dead-end trail that climbs up to a meadowy area at the base of the Boulder Mountains. At times over-run with ATV riders, this hike is also loved by motorcyclists, e-bikers, and equestrians. Be sure to take in the sweet views of the Boulders towering above you to the west, and the Prairie Creek and Owl Creek drainages to the west below.

This trail is steep and loose in parts, but the rest is a nice, smooth doubletrack. Stay right at the first junction and leave King Creek to stay on the main King Creek ATV Trail 416. After some foolishness, the trail comes out on the ridge and gets much easier.
