Family Friendly Flat, easy access with a short cut halfway

Description

There is not much shade along this loop so it would be best to avoid during mid summer days.

The trail meanders through what seems like old farmland. The trees are all less than 20 years old. I was there in Fall, but I imagine that during the Spring and Summer there are lots of wild flowers and birds to be seen. The surface of the trail varies between gravel, cinder, and boardwalk in the lower areas, which means that even on the wettest days the trail should stay dry.

Flora & Fauna

Though the titular "Longleaf Pine" are still pretty young and small, there is good birding country
