Need to Know

There is a pit toilet at the trailhead.

Description

The trail starts from the parking near Pyramid campground and proceeds to the summit of Pyramid Mountain, a small volcano that formed under a glacier that once occupied this valley. The trail is well-maintained and flat until the climb to the mountain with a nice, wide trail and sensible switchbacks once the climbing begins. The park seems to keep this section of trail free of deadfall as it is quite popular. From the summit, and as you approach it, the surrounding forest, Murtle river, and valley can be seen from above, although the famous waterfalls near here are not visible from the summit.
