ADA Accessible Very smooth paved path that is six feet wide and has multiple concrete sidewalks to benches for breaks. Also has concrete sidewalk from parking area with handicap area.

Family Friendly Great place to let children play and ride bikes on the nice path. Also saw people jogging with strollers. Popular swimming area in Bayou Grande for families with small children.

Parking is at Navy point park or roadside parking in a couple of wide places in the road.

No parking fees, has porta potty at Navy Point Park.

Description

Free Parking at Navy Point Park. Limited roadside parking. Smooth paved path along side of Bayou Grande for 2 miles. Several park benches along the path and a couple of picnic areas. Several concrete walkways off the paved path lead to benches on the edge of the water. Multiple places to go swimming along the shoreline. No waves, great for smaller children to play in the water. Some people fish along the shore. Parts of the shore are seeded with oyster habitat to help the natural shoreline.
