Need to Know
This trail has many access points as well as many potentially dangerous street crossings.
Description
This is a paved non-motorized multi-use trail that runs most of the length of Grand Avenue. It is unblazed, but it is an easy-to-follow paved path that features many signs. This is a main part of the Pullman Trails and Pathways system.
The path begins at the Pullman Depot Heritage Center. It quickly passes over NE Whitman St and enters into the Petry Natural Area. Here it passes behind many of the buildings and businesses on Grand Ave. Next, it passes by the Three Forks Wayside, a nice area that features benches and a small water feature. After passing an unmarked junction with the
College Hill Climb, the trail passes the natural area's more secluded benches and picnic tables.
Next, the trail passes across the busy NE Stadium Way. For the next while, the trail runs along the Missouri Flat Creek which it passes over at one point on a small and scenic little bridge. The trail then comes closer to the road, passes under an overpass, and crosses over N Grand Ave. Finally, for the rest of its run, the trail hugs the road until its northern terminus at Albion Road.
