The purpose of this road is access by the Corps of Engineers. Please do not interfere with dam operations. See swg.usace.army.mil/Missions… for applicable regulations.

Description

This trail is at the top of the Addicks Dam. Addicks is a "rolled-earth" dam; it was constructed by using the adjacent soil. The primary purpose of the route is maintenance access for the Corps of Engineers.

The western end at Highway 6 can be accessed by sidewalk from the Park Row area. There is a motor vehicle gate that can be stepped over or around. Do not park here.

The eastern end of the trail is at a similar gate at North Eldridge Parkway. The pedestrian options from here are poor. The shoulder of Eldridge north to Patterson Road is continuous, but south it pinches out before Park Row. Be very careful if you cross North Eldridge as there is a swale in the road to the south and northbound vehicles can be hidden.

Do not park at either end since the road's purpose is dam access by service and emergency vehicles.
