Parking, restrooms and drinking fountains are all available at the parking lot off of South Race Street.
Description
This paved path starts and ends at the main parking lot on South Race Street. It crosses over Douglas Creek via a small wooden footbridge and continues through restored grasslands. There is a nice overview at Freyfogle Overlook that also has some signs on local ecology.
Flora & Fauna
Plants: White False (Wild) Indigo, Wild Bergamot, Spiderwort, Foxglove Beardtongue, Pale Purple Coneflower, Purple Coneflower, Big Bluestem / Turkey Foot, Yellow Coneflower, Rattlesnake Master, Prairie Dock, Indian Grass, Stiff Goldenrod.
Other: deer, rabbits, bees.
Most of the flowers bloom during early July.
