Family Friendly At the beginning of the Bluestem Trail, make sure to see the Animal Encounters exhibit, with bobcats, deer, and a few other animals. There is also a Butterfly Garden to wander through.

An adult ticket to the nature center is $10.

Description

The trail starts at the Heard Museum, goes by the Animal Encounters area and Butterfly Garden, and continues mostly around the edge of the meadows to the start of the Wood Duck Trail. There are sections of boardwalk and sections of crushed granite paths. See deer, birds, and other wildlife. This is a two-way trail.

Flora & Fauna

The Museum staff are restoring the native tallgrass prairie here, and there are lots of native plants and wildflowers. See deer and other animals as well.
